Did a Supporter of Palestinian Terrorism Shed Light on the ‘Crime’ of Supporting Israel?

According to The Palestinian Chronicle, “US House Representative Rashida Tlaib has caused a stir after pointing out on Twitter that illegal Jewish settlements currently receive tax-exempt status in America, a contravention of international law.

In an open letter, she called on US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to examine the legitimacy of the status of US-based entities supporting settlements that perpetuate the forced removal of Palestinians from their land.

Tlaib is the first and only Palestinian American member of the US Congress. Throughout her term as a congresswoman, she has been consistently vocal about Israel’s racist policies and human rights violations against Palestinians.”

How often has Rashida Tlaib decried the inhumanity of Palestinian terrorists? Slashing the throats of elderly Jews, bombing cafes, and buses, launching hundreds of rockets into populated civilian areas. Anybody? Please provide links to sources quoting America’s darling Palestinian member of Congress.

Jewish Anti-Zionist US Congressman Did What?

Please stay up-to-date on this important in-depth discussion about the latest developments regarding Eretz Israel. 107 House Democrats, including seven Jewish members of Congress,  signed a letter criticizing President Trump’s Administration for its recent declaration that Israeli settlements are not illegal. The letter was sent to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Thane Rosenbaum, Mort Klein, Benjamin Anthony, and Mark S. Golub are dismayed at the lack of Jewish outrage in response to the letter.

This hot topic has received very little media attention and has hardly generated any response from the Jewish community.  The issue in the news is a letter signed by more than 100 Democratic members of Congress and sent to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticizing the Trump administration for stating that American foreign policy recognizes there is nothing illegal about Israeli settlements on what is normally referred to as the West Bank and what is called the West Ridge since most of the territory is on a mountain range overlooking the State of Israel.  And that is what it is called by many traditional Jews called Judea and Samaria since those are the biblical Jewish names for this land going back more than three thousand years to the days of the kings of Israel. But whatever you call the land west of the Jordan River, since 1967 when Israel took control of the land in a defensive war against Jordan, when at the time, there was no international recognition of Jordan’s right to that land ever since the Six-day War of 1967.  Israel’s presence on the West Ridge has been a bone of serious contention and constant criticism. Israel’s establishment of communities and towns on the West Ridge has been considered by many to be illegal, an obstacle to peace, and a violation of the fourth Geneva convention.  Although nothing related to Israeli control of West Ridge has anything to do with the import of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

After Donald Trump announced that the United States does not view Israeli communities to be illegal, Congressman Andy Levin of Michigan sponsored a letter criticizing this State Department decision and also suggesting the administration had engaged in other inappropriate acts including recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the closing of the Palestinian mission in Washington, halting US aid to the Palestinians on the West Bank and in Gaza, and remember,  the Trump administration is refusing to fund the Palestinian Authority so long as it promotes pay-for-slay, the practice of the Palestinian Authority supporting the families of those who murder Israeli civilians.  Congressman Levin’s letter goes on to say that the Trump administration has severely damaged prospects for peace and has endangered the security of America, Israel, and the Palestinian people. Some 107 House Democrats have signed this letter including seven Jewish members of Congress.

US Government’s Position on Legality of Israeli Settlements

The following is the full text of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s announcement at the State Department regarding Washington’s shift in policy toward Israeli settlements, which declared them not “inconsistent with international law,” November 18, 2019:

“Turning now to Israel, the Trump administration is reversing the Obama administration’s approach towards Israeli settlements.

US public statements on settlement activities in the West Bank have been inconsistent over decades. In 1978, the Carter administration categorically concluded that Israel’s establishment of civilian settlements was inconsistent with international law. However, in 1981, President Reagan disagreed with that conclusion and stated that he didn’t believe that the settlements were inherently illegal.

Subsequent administrations recognized that unrestrained settlement activity could be an obstacle to peace, but they wisely and prudently recognized that dwelling on legal positions didn’t advance peace. However, in December 2016, at the very end of the previous administration, Secretary Kerry changed decades of this careful, bipartisan approach by publicly reaffirming the supposed illegality of settlements.

After carefully studying all sides of the legal debate, this administration agrees with President Reagan. The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law.

I want to emphasize several important considerations.

First, look, we recognize that, as Israeli courts have, the legal conclusions relating to individual settlements must depend on an assessment of specific facts and circumstances on the ground. Therefore, the United States Government is expressing no view on the legal status of any individual settlement.

The Israeli legal system affords an opportunity to challenge settlement activity and assess humanitarian considerations connected to it. Israeli courts have confirmed the legality of certain settlement activities and has concluded that others cannot be legally sustained.

Second, we are not addressing or prejudging the ultimate status of the West Bank. This is for the Israelis and the Palestinians to negotiate. International law does not compel a particular outcome, nor create any legal obstacle to a negotiated resolution.

Third, the conclusion that we will no longer recognize Israeli settlements as per se inconsistent with international law is based on the unique facts, history, and circumstances presented by the establishment of civilian settlements in the West Bank. Our decision today does not prejudice or decide legal conclusions regarding situations in any other parts of the world.

And finally, finally, calling the establishment of civilian settlements inconsistent with international law hasn’t worked. It hasn’t advanced the cause of peace.

The hard truth is there will never be a judicial resolution to the conflict, and arguments about who is right and wrong as a matter of international law will not bring peace. This is a complex political problem that can only be solved by negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

The United States remains deeply committed to helping facilitate peace, and I will do everything I can to help this cause. The United States encourages the Israelis and the Palestinians to resolve the status of Israeli settlements in the West Bank in any final status negotiations.

And further, we encourage both sides to find a solution that promotes, protects the security and welfare of Palestinians and Israelis alike.”

This is a very fair question to ask is
it anti-semitic to be anti Zionist? First,
when we speak of anti-semitism we’re not
speaking of just criticisms of Jewish
people that are valid and fair of
individuals or as Jewish people as a
group that are valid or fair accurate.
We’re talking about the demonizing of
the people as a whole, we’re talking
about spreading falsehoods about the
people as a whole.
So is it anti-semitic to be an anti
Zionist? If you have issues with the way
Israel treats the Palestinians but
recognize their right to be in the land,
if you recognize there are two sides to
the conflict but think that Israel is
often taking the wrong side, that’s
perfectly fair, and perfectly legitimate
to raise that question. On the other hand,
if you delegitimize Israel’s right to
exist, if you delegitimize Israel’s right
to have a homeland, if you demonize the nation as a whole
and say that it is as a whole genocidal
and apartheid, etc., if you spread the
lies about Israel such as that the
Israelis kill the Palestinians to
harvest their organs and things like
that, then yes, it is anti-semitic. And so
often it is the case that anti Sciences
anti-zionism is a cloak for
anti-semitism. Let me say again… valid
criticism of Israel and the Jewish
people is fine and it’s not anti-semitic.
Spreading lies about the people as a
whole or demonizing the nation as a
whole, that is anti-semitic. But there’s
an interesting verse in the book of
Zechariah… Zechariah the second chapter
the 12th verse, it’s a very interesting
verse, “…and the Lord will inherit Judah
and his portion in the Holy Land and
will again choose Jerusalem”, and in the
same context God says, “whoever touches
Israel touches the apple of my eye.”
What’s the point I’m making? God
dispersed the Jewish people into exile
because of sin, rejecting the Torah,
rejecting the prophets, rejecting the
Messiah. The Jewish people, I am a Jew,
the Jewish people, we have been scattered
around the world often under judgment
from God and then hate
for men and then Satan wanted to wipe us
out and yet God still has his hand on
the Jewish people. “And says whoever
touches them touches the apple of my eye”
and he said that even when Israel was in
sin and rebellion, just as you’d feel
toward your own child maybe had done
something wrong and you had to
discipline that child, but that’s still
your beloved child, so fair and valid
criticism of Jewish people, individuals,
people as a group, Israel as a nation,
fair and valid criticism is always fine.
Demonizing the people as a group, the
delegitimizing of the state as a state, as a
country, that friends is anti-semitic, so
sometimes anti-zionism is anti-semitism.

Is it Finally Time to Build the Third Temple?

It’s really not a question of if, but when will the Third Temple be built?

“It’s time to vote with our feet and send a clear message to the world that we truly believe that the Temple Mount is ours and we truly hope and pray for a time of unparalleled world peace and harmony with the re-building of the Third Temple,” stated Rabbi Chaim Richman, international director of the Temple Institute,. “This new video is an emotional and visual tool to awaken world Jewry this Tisha B’Av and have them internalize the message that the dream of 2000 years is finally within our reach.”

It has been confirmed that Zehut (Identity) party leader Moshe Feiglin will order his party, Zehut, to step down in the current election to join Netanyahu’s Likud party who will make him a “high ranking official” in the PM’s next government.

Moshe Feiglin’s Zehut was the only party head in the current elections who openly calls for building the third Temple and has placed it on his party’s platform. The catch was that Feiglin’s Zehut party had to drop out of the race.

In light of their favorable performance in the polls, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the head of the Otzma Yehudit party now says that he will demand the role of Justice Minister as a condition to entering into a coalition reports Ynet. This means that if Netanyahu wants to secure a right-wing coalition, as he says he does, he will likely have to comply with Ben-Gvir’s demand. The Justice Minister oversees all aspects of Israel’s Justice System.

Ben-Gvir and his party have come out openly in favor of building the Third Temple and are expected to pass the minimum threshold of four seats in Tuesday’s election.

Speculation also surrounds the possibility of  President Donald Trump playing a role in the rebuilding of the Temple since he was instrumental in declaring Jerusalem as the recognized, undivided capital of Israel.  Both the Sanhedrin and Prime Minister Netanyahu have compared the U.S. president to Cyrus, the Persian King who said,

“The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.  Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them. And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.”

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini was also a notorious Nazi who mixed Nazi propaganda and Islam.  Al-Husseini was wanted for war crimes in Bosnia by the government of Yugoslavia.  Al-Husseini’s mix of propaganda with militant Islam was an inspiration to both Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein, the former dictator of Iraq.  Al-Husseini was also a close relative of Yasser Arafat, the founder of the terrorist PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization).  Al-Husseini was also the grandfather of the current Temple Mount Mufti. “Yasser Arafat’s actual name was Abd al-Rahman abd al-Bauf Arafat al-Qud al-Husseini. Arafat shortened his name to cloak his kinship with the notorious Nazi and ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini.” Howard M. Sachar, A HISTORY OF ISRAEL (New York: Knopf, 1976).  The Bet Agron International Center in Jerusalem interviewed Arafat’s brother and sister, who described the Mufti as a cousin (family member) with tremendous influence on young Yasser Arafat after the Mufti returned from Berlin to Cairo. It should also be noted that Saddam Hussein was raised in the house of his uncle Khayrallah Tulfah, who was a leader in the Mufti’s pro-Nazi coup in Iraq in May 1941.
