On October 7, 2023 the terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel by air, land, and sea. Upon understanding the depravity and barbarism of these actions, including the kidnapping of Israelis, even children, I expected the entire globe to be in mourning. Instead, there was not only silence but jubilation.
It was exhilarating and energizing. I wasn’t witnessing an ideological disagreement; I was witnessing hatred.
The hate started flooding in almost immediately. Students labeled it resistance, called it justified, and began accusing Zionist students of racism.
Standing up for being Jewish has brought me more hate than all the things I’ve said on social media and on my podcast combined—and I’ve said a lot.
For every pro-Israel video, there are 54 pro-Hamas and pro-Palestine videos. Foreign state and non-state actors are seeding online space with false narratives to impact the stability of Western democracy.
Thirty years ago, leaders of Hamas in America met and discussed strategies to hijack students’ minds, adapting the concept of non-violence. Violence will follow.
“Down with the USA! Down with the USA!”
This is not about Jews; this is about democracy, about human decency. What does it mean when the future leaders of the most important democracy in the world are chanting for its downfall? What is the country going to look like a decade from now?
What is at stake is the soul of America.
